Prevention is the Name of the Game

I have a subscription to Monitor on Psychology magazine. I was reading an article, when I came across a couple of great statements. The article was titled Strong Families Safe Children by Jamie Chamberlin. The focus of this article was PREVENTION. Some APA (American Psychological Association) members have a goal to "convince lawmakers to invest in maltreatment prevention because prevention is good economic policy." (Chamberlin,2009). Intervening early with effective interventions for those who are vulnerable makes more sense and is more cost effective than handling the situation when it is too late or gets too much out of hand. I think this holds true with any subject. An ounce of prevention goes a long way.
